Mobility, Flexibility & Balance
Stay steady, stay independent, keep training for decades.
fewer falls in older adults on exercise programs that included balance training, across 108 randomized trials.
Source: Sherrington et al., Cochrane, 2019What the research shows
A Cochrane review of 108 randomized trials found that exercise programs including balance and functional training reduced the rate of falls in older adults by about 23% (Sherrington et al., 2019).
Balance has also been studied as a health marker: in a study of adults aged 51-75, those who couldn’t stand on one leg for 10 seconds had a higher risk of death over the following seven years (Araújo et al., 2022).
How we train it
From the longest-lived
Long-lived people stay limber through daily life: gardening, walking, and getting up and down from the floor.
What we'll help you track
The 10-second one-leg stand and a simple flexibility check.
